MEET KAYLA
Kayla Harrison, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
I am a licensed Master’s social worker who earned my master’s degree from Stony Brook University. I prioritize providing a safe environment that allows my clients to speak freely without fear of judgment. I work with children, teens, and young adults of diverse backgrounds to help them feel heard and understood, especially during times when life feels uncertain. I value supporting individuals in a range of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, body image concerns, and life transitions.
By employing a trauma-responsive and holistic approach, I tailor my approach to the unique needs of every client. I draw on evidence-based practices of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and elements of play therapy to best support my clients throughout their healing journey.
Navigating life's challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face them alone. I believe that talking and processing your thoughts is a beneficial and powerful step towards growth and self-understanding. Starting therapy is an act of courage and a great first step towards healing.
